General Presentation

After graduating from the Manufacturing Engineering specialty of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, in 1992, he joins the TCM Department team in the academic year 1992-1993, as junior assistant professor. Immediately after graduating from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, he starts attending the courses of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of “Al.I. Cuza” University of Iasi, in the Industrial Management field, which he completed in 1998. Further to the graduation of the postgraduate course held between 2002-2003 by the Polytechnics University of Bucharest, the Academy of Economic Studies of Bucharest and the Terotehnics and Terotechnology Association of Romania, he becomes national expert in general management and industrial management consulting.

Throughout his teaching and research career, he published, as sole author, first author or co-author 39 books/chapters book/books as editor, 197 articles (36 in WoS journals with impact factor, 43 in WoS Proceedings, 26 in national/international journals indexed by different databases, 34 in national journals, 58 in volumes of international conferences at national scientific events). He is the sole and first author of four patents indexed by Clarivate Analytics. As far as research is concerned, he coordinated 14 national and international projects as project manager, member in other 17 research projects and proposed five projects at European and National level on the last years. He is scientific reviewer for 8 books, CNCSIS, CEEX and INTAS-ERA NET expert evaluator, official reviewer for 43 Ph.D. theses, 6 positions as external reviewer, member in the scientific committees of 27 international conferences, member of editorial teams at 11 international journals/conferences, making over 150 reviews of conferences and journals. Using funds from his own research projects, he created the Laboratory of Fine Mechanics and Nanotechnology with modern facilities, which he has managed to have certified according to the ISO 2008 Quality Management System and recertified by ESYD Greece.

Throughout his career, he received a TEMPUS and Romanian Government scholarship at Escuela Tecnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales, Universidad Politecnica de Madrid.

Between 2004-2008 he founded and managed the Program Department of the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi, Romania. Within this department, he created a master’s degree program in project management, which has been recognized by Project Management Romania, as providing valid training in the field. Since 2009, he is Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Modern Manufacturing Technologies (IJMMT), which is indexed by Scopus, Inspec-Engineering Village, Index Copernicus, Google Scholar, CNKI and in the process of being indexed by WoS-Clarivate Analytics. Also, he is Editor in Chief of Advanced Engineering Forum (AEF)-Trans Tech Publications-Switzerland, Guest Editor at IJEMS-India, IJMPT-Great Britain, IOP Conference Series (Materials Science and Engineering)-Great Britain, Advanced Materials Research-Trans Tech Publications-Switzerland. His position of Chairman of the Organizing Committee enabled him to turn the former TMCR International Conference into the current ModTech-New Face of TMCR, which, through personal efforts, managed to WoS indexed it starting with 2009. He is the member of 9 professional associations and president of the Professional Association in Modern Manufacturing Technologies, ModTech-Iasi, Romania. During all activity he participated, so far, at 66 international conferences/seminars/workshops in countries across Europe, USA and Asia. He was invited to give 32 lectures, as plenary speaker/keynote speaker/invited speaker at different international conferences and over the years he got 26 national / international awards.

He had/has several visiting professor positions in Poland, Japan, Mexico, Italy, Republic of Moldova, France. Starting with 2018, he received the ph.d supervisor position at the Technical University of Moldova.

Since with October 2017 he was accepted as Visiting Professor at the Silesian University of Technology, Mechanical Engineering Faculty, Gliwice, Poland and since 2021 as Visiting Professor at Alecu Russo University of Balti, Republic of Moldova.
